چکیده
Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of metabolic abnormalities, including central obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. Parathyroid diseases are group disorders that affect the parathyroid glands’ function, which regulates body’s calcium phosphorus levels. There growing evidence may be associated with syndrome. body suggesting possible association between Hyperparathyroidism secondary hyperparathyroidism resistance while hypoparathyroidism hypocalcemia-induced abnormalities. Parathormone plays crucial role in homeostasis bone metabolism. However, PTH can lead hypercalcemia, cause abnormalities such as dyslipidemia. Studies have shown patients primary higher prevalence than general population. Secondary another chronic renal failure. متن کامل[Metabolic syndrome in inflammatory rheumatic diseases].
Toward the end of the last century a better knowledge of cardiovascular (CV) risk factors and their associations led investigators to propose the existence of a unique pathophysiological condition called "metabolic" or "insulin resistance syndrome". Among all, insulin-resistance and compensatory hyperinsulinemia are considered its most important treatment targets. Different definitions have bee...
متن کاملMetabolic Syndrome in Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in Iran
Background The prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) has been studied in different populations, but their results were so controversial regarding Iranian women. These controversial data indicated the need for more investigation of MetS characteristics in PCOS patients in our population. So this study aimed to evaluate the clinical and laboratory characteris...
متن کاملVitamin D, parathyroid hormone and metabolic syndrome – the PORMETS study
BACKGROUND Vitamin D (VitD) and parathyroid hormone (PTH) play important roles in calcium metabolism and skeletal homeostasis. Estimates of the VitD status in several European countries show large variations between them. In addition, no national population-based estimate has been published. VitD and PTH may also play important roles in cardiovascular risk, which has been suggested to be associ...
متن کاملDiet-induced metabolic syndrome model in rats
Background & Objective: Risk for heart disease, diabetes, and stroke increases with the number of the metabolic risk factors. In general, a person who has the metabolic syndrome is twice as likely to develop heart disease and five times as likely to develop diabetes as someone who does not have the metabolic syndrome. High-calorie-diet rodent models have contributed significantly to the analysi...
